be happy chocolate was born from a desire to find chocolate that was dairy-free, refined sugar-free, ethically sourced, delicious and made in New Zealand.

Proudly hand-made in Martinborough, we make our bars by first grinding our own raw cacao before combining it with the best raw, organic ingredients in a way that preserves their natural goodness.

We use ethically sourced ingredients and all of our bars are dairy and refined sugar-free. We hand-wrap our chocolate in packaging that is beautiful, functional and low impact, using vegetable inks for printing on home compostable and recyclable materials. 

We donate 5% of all profits to the Rainforest Foundation who do vital work, alongside indigenous communities, fighting deforestation, preserving lands and wildlife and protecting human rights.
